STORY

Earl Johnson – Lead Guitar & Vocals:

 

Earl joined KING BISCUIT BOY at the age of 18 touring the US & Canada playing shows with Bob Seger, Mitch Ryder,  Brownsville Station to name a few.   Earl joined Leigh Ashford in 1972, which became MOXY in 73.  Moxy released 4 albums, toured the US extensively with acts such as AC/DC, BLACK SABBATH, SANTANA, BLACKMORES RAINBOW, STYX etc. AC/DC opened for MOXY on 3 Texas Shows in 1977 when they first toured the U.S.

 

In 2000 Earl resumed MOXY due to the demand for live gigs in Texas and played the SWEDEN Rock Festival in 2001.  Moxy continues to tour and will be playing the Golden Age Rock Festival in Belgium in August 2019.

 

Earl is also the lead guitarist in Still Sunday, a classic rock/R&B/funk band with a strong following in the GTA.

Jim Cornell - Vocals/Guitar/Drums

 

Jim started his career at the age of 8 when he was invited on stage by the Platters  to sing AMEN and they nicknamed him Lil Soul brother.  

 

In the early 90’s he joined the band Freewave as a guitarist/vocalist which led to an invitation to share the stage with Lynell Carter, Edwin Starr’s tenor sax player.  Soon after he was recording guitar tracks with DJ Sweat – known for his work with Chris Sheppard and Henny Brecker of Solitudes fame, & Juno award work on Malcolm X. 

 

In 2007 Jim joined east coast recording band Moosestew as their bassist and vocalist, touring regularly for the next 5 years opening for The Fables, the Irish Decendants and many other head lining acts. 

 

2010 saw Jim play the drums with RUST a Neil Young Tribute band led by the late Rodger Walker.   Following Rodgers sudden illness and untimely passing, Jim formed Still Sunday a classic rock/R&B/funk band with a strong following in the GTA that continues to play today.  Jim recently completed the drum tracks for Fraz Milne's newest CD, The Grey Area

Rachel Jeans - Vocals, Percussion, Acoustic Guitar

Rachel first got her stage legs at the age of 4, performing live at festivals. She soon after began writing, completing her first song at the age of 6. As she grew, so did her passion for music. Rachel taught herself to play guitar at the age of 16, continuing to perform with a full band, as well as a solo acoustic act.

Rachel won Toronto’s Rising Star, and took first place in Open Mic Canada, performing her original songs. Throughout the years, she has performed internationally in countries such as Cuba, Mexico, Ireland, Scotland, and Costa Rica. She has also performed with “Miss Demeanor” throughout the Ontario region.  

Rachel is focusing on her original music, preparing to record in the near future. Look out for the CD release! (There will be a party)

Carlo Pontone - Bass/Vocals

Bassist\Vocalist Carlo Pontone has been playing with a number of bands throughout the GTA since he was a teen playing some of the largest venues in Ontario.  Carlo's passion for the music is evident each time you see him on stage as he gets deep into the beat with a smile on his face always.    

Ron McLeod - Drums

 

Ron has been drumming since he was 11 years old when he traded his race car set for a drum set.  Now playing live since his early teens Ron has played some of the largest club venues in Ontario.

 

Ron has been on the rock scene since the early 80s with various cover bands and in the 90s on drums with The Cult tribute Sanctuary which after many successful years and shows evolved into Blackwell which recorded 2 EPs and some opening shows for a few larger touring bands
